Fringe, Refined

Vintage Havana fringed split tank, Tea Collection printed joggers, Jack Rogers sandals, 31 Bits necklace

A fringed tank may seem limited, trapped in the same world of summer clothing as gym cutoffs and rubber flipflops. However, with the right pairing, you can elevate it for a cool and dressy summer look. We’ve taken this split-side fringed tank by Vintage Havana and paired it with cute pants from Tea Collection. The pants are a patterned jogger in a lightweight and sueded woven cotton. Both pieces are as comfortable as they are cute! Picking up on cues from the pants, we’ve finished off the look with blush sandals from Jack Rogers and gold bauble necklace from 31Bits.

This Just In: Roxy Girl

New Tops and Jeans from Roxy Girl

It may be hot outside right now, but this warm weather won’t last forever. Here at Sachi, pre-fall clothing is starting to arrive! Some items you can wear now and later, like the cute blue tee shirt. The poncho is a too heavy for summer days, but great for summer nights (especially at the lake or the beach) over your tank and shorts. The jeans are lightweight, so you can start wearing them earlier (back to school outfit, anyone?!). The longsleeve tee, which comes in two color options, is a great comfy option for fall activities. The cutest pieces for a season come in early, so be sure to start stocking your fall wardrobe this summer.

What to Wear Where: Mama Mia

Today is opening night for the hit musical “Mama Mia!” at the Orpheum. If you can’t make it tonight, you have four more opportunities this weekend! Go here for showtimes and tickets. Want to know what to wear? We’ve got you covered with some outfit suggestions.

First up: Evening performances

Un Deux Trois dress and accessories for the theatre

When you attend a theatre performance in the evening, the dress code is fancier. Opening nights usually have the most dressed-up attendees, who may sport evening wear such as long gowns and tuxedos. A typical evening performance does not get quite that fancy. We’ve selected this hot pink dress from Un Deux Trois, but toned it down with accessories. A fun wristlet from Vera Bradley holds your essentials: ticket, lip gloss, tissues, money for snacks, and a silenced cell phone. The print and quilted cloth help to keep things casual, while the metal accents keep it from looking misplaced. Wear some sparkle, but keep it minimal. We’ve chosen these small earrings from Baked Beads. The Steve Madden wedges may have shiny jewels and shimmery fabric on top, but the rope-wrapped outsole keeps them more relaxed.

Next up: Matinee (Afternoon) Perfomances

Matinee performances are typically attended by more families and have a much more relaxed dress code. Jeans and capris are great, as long as you wear a nice top. Athletic shorts are out, but fun leggings and a cute tunic are in. The outfit from this post is a great example. You could even do a cute pair of board shorts and leather sandals in place of the jeans and wedges. Make sure to keep reading our blog – the next time a show’s on our event schedule, we’ll have a fun and easy guideline to putting together outfits for the theater.

C’est la chic.

Mon Petit Chic Tee from Flowers by Zoe with Area Code 407 leggings and Steve Madden wedges

This Flowers by Zoe Parfum tee is “super chouette.” On the back, black and white chevrons are overlaid with neon floral prints, while the all black front features a sequin perfume bottle (kinda looks like CoCo C’s). Since the top is such a statement, we went understated for the bottoms: a simple pair of black capri leggings from Area Code 407. With all that black, we know you’ll want just a little more pizzazz. Shimmery, jeweled platform wedges by Steve Madden provide just the right final touch. As for hair and accessories, we know you’ll do us proud, whatever you choose.

What to Wear Wednesday

So the title of the post says “Wednesday” and today is Tuesday, but we’re planning for tomorrow, so don’t stress. We’ve got a great activity lined up for you and the perfect top to wear.

Truluv sporty tank in multi

Now that your outfit is all set, get out your agenda and pencil in “Brooks Museum” from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm for tomorrow. It’s time for Wacky Wednesday at the Brooks! This summer, they’re featuring a very cool exhibit called “The Art of Video Games.” In addition to checking out the exhibit, you’ll be able to watch movies in the auditorium or stop by the studio to make your own art. Wacky Wednesday finishes just in time for lunch at the Brushmark or a picnic at Overton Park. Can’t make it tomorrow? You’re in luck, because this event will be recurring weekly through June and July.

Movie Time: Breakfast at Tiffany’s

Ok, gals. If you haven’t seen it yet, you need to set up a movie date with “Breakfast at Tiffany’s.” It’s classy and a little heart-wrenching, but we’re sure you’ll love it as much as we do. After all, Audrey Hepburn + cat named Cat + fashion all over = feature film fave. So grab some croissants, a couple of friends, your choice of yummy beverage (frothy hot chocolate, anyone? ok, we’ll settle for a frappuccino if it’s afternoon), and enjoy.

And once you’ve memorized all the words to “Moon River,” it will be time for a shopping trip. Plenty of fashionable ladies have been inspired by this classic film and you can be too! Some go for directly copying Audrey’s on-screen looks, but we prefer to capture the essence while adding some youthful updates. Below, we’ve paired an adorable pleated Ella Moss tank with a Flowers by Zoe lace skirt, using fashion’s most timeless palette: black and white. Every girl needs a little sparkle (even if it’s not from Tiffany’s), so we’ve added some black and pink bangles by Bari Lynn. Our heeled Nina sandals will have you standing tall while this handy and classic Vera Bradley cross-body will help keep you all together.  Put your hair in a topknot, grab your best big shades and head out on the town!

Fit to be tie-dyed

Tie-dyed outfit from Flowers by Zoe with Havaianas and aviator shades

Get psychedelic this summer with cool tie-dyed/marble-dyed wardrobe pieces. This funky swirly tank from Flowers by Zoe is a soft knit with criss-cross straps in the back. While you could obvs pair this tank with your white jeans or fave denim cutoffs, we’ve paired it here with purple tie-front knit shorts also from Flowers by Zoe. Staying on theme, we suggest sliding on these tie-dye print Havaianas. Pull your hair up into a high pony to keep your hair off the tank’s cute strap feature (and your neck – Memphis can get super hot in the summer). Top it off with a twist on classic aviators: lime green with mirrored lenses. Now you’re all set to be one groovy girl. Have fun!

Top+Options=Toptions

A floral tank by Truluv: ways to wear

This floral tank top from Truluv is too cute to wear only one way. It has criss-cross spaghetti straps and a swing cut. The print has a wide range of colors: blue, mint, burnt orange, taupe, mauve, and black. We’ve given you three options for how to wear it, but we know you’ll find more. Pair it over a lace-trimmed tank with denim skinnies for a relaxed but feminine look. This lacy tank from Daisy Jayne is available in cream and navy as well as taupe. Thanks to the wide variety of colors in the top, you have plenty of bottom options. We’ve shown it here with two colorways of knit short from Tea Collection: navy and dark teal. Whether playing in the park or bumming with a book, you’ll be comfy and stylish in this top, however you pair it.
